Traveling during Thanksgiving can get expensive. Really expensive. And as Hubby and I were looking over flight options to visit his family out East during the holiday, we couldn't find a good deal. So instead of spending a load of cash, or skipping out on the Thanksgiving festivities, we instead took the alternative (and best) option and flew out a few weeks early to visit the family and celebrate.
Beyond spending time with mom and dad, we had some major points of interest we wanted to see while out East, including BW3's (Buffalo Wild Wings), Caribou Coffee and Panera Bread. Don't ask why all our favorite spots revolve around food... it's just the way it is.
We also had some great bonding time with the folks, as Hubby helped dad clear out brush from the backyard and us girls went shopping for baby clothes and went out for coffee. Both in our element, we cherished every moment.
The weather didn't embody the typical temperatures you'd think for a Thanksgiving celebration. Beyond the mid-60's we enjoyed while around home, the true pre-Thanksgiving warm-up began when we visited the beach and enjoyed a picnic and nice walk in the 70 degree weather.
And yes, we did have a Thanksgiving feast during our trip. Mom put together an amazing turkey dinner with all the fixing that was sure to keep us full until the actual Thanksgiving day.
All together our trip was exactly what we needed: relaxation and making sweet memories with the family. I think mom summed it up the best when she said, "We laughed alot, talked alot and ate alot. Perfect!"
