This new mom-thing has definitely taken me into a whole new world. Instead of sitting in a fast-paced corporate office wondering when I'll be able to fit lunch into my day, I'm now rocking a baby to sleep wondering when I'll be able to fit lunch into my day.
Thankfully, today I have had my lunch and I'm realizing how much I'm loving the new role of mom. With the title of "mommy," I've seen a few major changes in my life that are definitely worth noting.
You know you're a mom when....
- Everyday conversations include topics like poop consistency and color.
- You sway back and forth even when there isn't a baby in your arms.
- You wake up in the middle of the night wondering why your baby isn't in your arms - even when you've never had him sleep in bed with you.
- Getting together with your girlfriends in now called a "play date."
- Crying babies in a store don't bother you as much anymore.
- Your schedule is broken into 3-hour blocks and you calculate your day based on what feeding you're on.
- Walking out of the house without spit up, pee, poop or some other baby-related stain on your outfit, is considered a good day.
- 4 hours of sleep in a row is a luxury.
- Redbox and Netflix are some of the greatest inventions EVER! (Hey - Mommy and Daddy need to keep up on their movies and TV shows somehow).
- Leaving the house can become an adventure.
- Having pee whiz by your face at mach speed is a regular occurrence (Tip for new moms - always have a wash cloth handy when changing a little boy's diaper).
- You have at least one photo of your baby available for public viewing at all times - case in point....
