So I know I've been terrible about blogging the past few weeks. But I have a valid excuse: Hubby and I took CB to visit my family in North Dakota and with preparing for the trip, being gone a week and then finding time to download pictures from our visit, I'm finally getting around to updating the blog.
Our trip visiting the family was amazing. This wasn't only CB's first time to meet his Uncle Dave and cousin Devan, but it was his first plane ride too.

| CB was a champ on the plane. One bottle feed during take-off and this kid slept the rest of the flight. |
Once in North Dakota, it was a lot of hugs, cuddles and playing around with the whole family and experiencing a lot of new things, especially meeting Uncle Dave and Devan for the first time (and also getting reacquainted with Nana and Papa again).
| Meeting Uncle Dave for the first time. |
| CB sharing a secret with Uncle Dave. With all the "coos" CB says now, I'm sure the secret was REALLY good. |
| Cousin Devan feeding CB (Nice form for his first time feeding a baby!) |
| Nana impressed with CB's ability to stick almost his entire fist in his mouth. |
| Papa teaching CB how to play the piano. |
| First time taking a bath in a sink - and he LOVED it! |
With all the "new" things happening during this visit, it was good that our trip to North Dakota included some of our regular family traditions.
| Playing around on the pianos as a family. |
| Uncle/Nephew pillow fights and/or Star Wars light-saber duels. |
| Trips to Sam's Club - Notice that feeding time didn't slow us down. CB just went with the flow of our schedule! The best part of the Sam's trip was when I found Hubby and CB sitting in a recliner in the furniture section, as Hubby finished feeding CB the bottle. Hilarious! | |
We also tend to travel around town to see the "sights" when visiting North Dakota. But this year was a little different since the entire area is covered in water from the flood. Instead, we spent some of our time driving around town (with a lot of detours) to see all the flooding.
| Notice where the water comes up on the STOP sign. Or the fact that the water comes right up to the bottom of the bridge. Crazy!! |
All and all it was a great trip for all three of us. We were so glad to spend time with family, get a chance to relax and introduce CB to where his Mom grew up. There will be many more visits to North Dakota in the future. But this trip was a great way to start things off.
