Tour Guides of the West

I love it when people visit us from out of town. It gives us a chance to show off where we live (which we're super proud of), and because of the variety within the city and mountains, we never run out of things to do.

So it made it even more special when my mom, dad, brother and nephew came to visit us this past week. Though my parents have been here many times (and have been given the grand tour of our state), we put on our tour guide hats for my brother and his son - who have never been here - and had a blast showing them just a glimpse of our life out West.

Considering we only had them in town for a few short days, we totally packed in the activities. We took them to:

• A ski resort with summer activities where we went up on a tram to the top of Hidden Peak (about 11k ft above sea level), took them alpine sliding and jumping on a bungy trampoline. 
• The Mayan restaurant with people diving off cliffs into water (similar to Casa Bonita, for those of you from CO). 
• The mountains. We hiked all over, including a short jaunt to an amazing waterfall. 
• An outdoor mall where my nephew ran through a huge water fountain and even got interviewed by the local news about how much fun the fountain was (for those of you who are local, keep your eyes peeled for a segment on KSL's Studio 5).
• A water park with crazy water slides and a lazy river.

A snowball fight in July? Only in the mountains!
