As CB gets bigger and we prepare for Baby Girl (BG) to join our little family, we realized that we needed to upgrade CB's mode of transporation. He's going to have to share his "baby" car seat with his sister, so we took him shopping for a new "big boy" car seat.
We had read reviews and looked at pricing and pretty much knew what seat we were going to get as we entered the store. But when we got there, they were sold out of what we were planning to buy. Which actually worked out for us. We ended up spending some time looking at a few of the models that would last us a little more long-term. And thankfully, the two we narrowed it down to were the same price. So now it's was down to reviews and the look of the seat.
Thanks to smartphones, we scanned the UPC of both contenders and read multiple reviews on both seats. At this point, CB was starting to get a little antsy waiting for Hubby and I to make a decision. To keep our little one occupied, we decided to make him a part of our buying decision (plus we wanted to see how he fit in both seats).
Now normally, a one-year old wouldn't be involved with choosing the car seat. And technically, his opinion wasn't the full determination in our final decision - but it definitely didn't hurt. CB tested out both car seats and funny enough, he actually winced in car seat #2 he tested - probably not because of comfort, but because he was ready to be done with the whole shopping experience.
Well his outcry, along with reviews we read lead us to get car seat #1. Though he still needs to gain a few pounds to officially ride in it, we know it won't be long until our little boy will be cruisin' along in his big boy seat.
