Peanut's 6 Months Old

Has is really been a half of a year since Peanut was born? Two kids definitely makes time pass by quickly. Yet we still take time in all the chaos to make memories each day. Whether going downtown with the kids for supper or going to a friend's house for Thanksgiving, we've been purposeful about taking time to reflect on the little moments we have with our minis to ensure we're not letting time pass by too quickly.

During month six for Peanut - her big accomplishment has been sitting up by herself. It was fun to hear the doctor at her 6 month appointment commented that he couldn't remember the last time he walked into the exam room to see a 6 month old sitting on the table. Peanut definitely showed off for him that day and she's been doing great with hitting the standard developmental milestones. We can't seem to ever put her in her bouncy chair (which leans back slightly) without her sitting up to take in everything going on in the room.

We also learned that she now weighs 14.5 lbs and is 25.5 inches tall - right in line with what she should be considering she was such a small little peanut when she was born. She's a relaxed baby, but also pushes herself developmentally. Though not crawling yet, you can tell she wants to. When she's on her tummy, her legs are kicking around trying to figure out the mechanics of moving her across the floor. Soon....

She's a great sleeper - just like her big brother. She continues to sleep 12 hours a night, plus two naps during the day. She's also a great eater. She's up to 6 ounces of formula four times a day, plus two meals with actual food (oatmeal and either a fruit or veggie). 

She cues, giggles and "talks" to us and her older brother. She looks at him with admiration and they are already starting to connect more and more each day. I can't wait until they are a bit older, to see how their friendship blossoms over the years.
